Clark Recognizes Women Leaders at Iris Awards

Clark College will host the 29th annual Iris Awards Thursday in celebration of three women’s leadership contributions to the community.

Kris M. Henriksen, Sherri McMillan and Kristy Weaver are this year’s honorees.

Henriksen is a Clark County community services program coordinator and helped developed the youth helpline TeenTalk. McMillan is a fitness writer and the owner of a local personal training company. Weaver is a vice president at Pacific Continental Bank and and serves on several boards in Vancouver

The Iris Awards were created in 1985 to commemorate International Women’s Day and National Women’s Month, according to Chief Communications Officer Chato Hazelbaker.

Tickets are available at the door for $35. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the ceremony starts at 6 p.m.
